Workplace Needs Assessment
Workplace Needs Assessments are designed to provide an overview of any challenges your employee might face at work as a result of their neurodiversity or disability.
We will work closely with your employee to understand the specific barriers they come up against in their day-to-day work that have an impact on their confidence, wellbeing, and productivity. We can then make recommendations for support or adjustments that can help them reach their potential. This might be anything from using assistive technology or undergoing coping strategy coaching to having access to a quiet place to work.
We will support your employee and their manager to ensure any changes can be made smoothly and effectively.
Adjustments do not have to be costly or complicated, but they can make a world of difference. The government-funded scheme called ‘Access to Work’ can pay for ongoing support.
The BIS Workplace Needs Assessment involves answering a short set of questions in advance of the assessment and a 1-hour assessment meeting; this is usually conducted by virtual face-to-face or phone call, depending on their preference and circumstances. Support workers and other representatives are welcome to attend with them if they prefer. A report of recommendations will be made available to your employee and their line manager.
